The Shires
The Shires: Sunday 25

The groundswell of interest in country music in the UK is now officially unstoppable. But one of the acts helping to make country cooler than ever on this side of the Atlantic aren’t from Tennessee or Texas, they’re from Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. They look and sound great, and they’re all set to take their country-influenced music to the world. Step forward, The Shires.

Judge Jules & a 10 piece band

One of the scene’s most best-known names for more than three decades, Judge Jules has never shied away from pushing the boundaries in dance music.

At Meraki Festival 2019, for the first time ever, audiences will be able to experience the iconic tracks that have defined his career through a ten-piece live band with Judge Jules at the helm.

With complete creative free rein, Jules curated every element of the performance. Each track has been bespoke reinvented and reworked in a style unique to this live show, featuring a full ten-piece band, with brass, percussion, drums, bass guitar, lead guitar, keyboard, singers, and of course Judge Jules himself. A 90-minute showfrom start to finish, the music has been selected to represent the breadth and scale of his career.

Lethbridge Owen is a London-based original musical artist playing folk-rock, pop-rock and more.

Lethbridge Owen are what ‘The Rumours’ line-up of Fleetwood Mac could have been if they hadn’t imploded. Superb!! I love the little percussive pushes, pristine harmonies, lovely production and intricate guitar work – it all flows!”

Callow Saints

Callow Saints
Callow Saints: Sunday 25

Callow Saints are a four-piece combo hailing from the badlands of North Bucks.

Switching effortlessly from achingly beautiful, soul-laden ballad to ‘punch-to-the-guts’ rock within a few bars, this band has an immediacy that commands your attention from the get-go. Prepare for their songs to be your earworms for days – guaranteed!

Live, Callow Saints are the antidote to bland, unchallenging formulaic pop, grabbing any crowd by their collective throats and shaking them down until they know the meaning of something wonderful.

Jake Morrell

Jake Morrell

Jake Morrell could have come straight out of Nashville, or even from the Californian sunshine, as his music suggests; but Jake is from Norfolk, England!

Jake was ‘discovered’ by Dermot O’Leary, who featured him on his Radio 2 Show. One influential listener just so happened to be Glastonbury boss Emily Eavis, who immediately asked Jake to perform at the iconic festival. Jake recorded his debut single with London based producer Brett Shaw (Florence & The Machine, The Kooks & Dry the River). The song entitled “Wire and Thorns” reached No.2 in the iTunes country charts on the first day of release.

Jake is bringing his incredible energy and vocals to Meraki and is performing in our Mr Peebles Tent.
